Creek 35L Backpack

Taking design cues from Big Wall haul bags, the Black Diamond Creek 35 Backpack effortlessly swallows all of your cragging gear within its top-loading design, complete with a full-length side zipper (medium/large only) for convenient access to internal items. This haul-style bag stands upright, lending itself to easy loading and unloading. Burly construction ensures longevity while the waterproof TPU coating keeps internal items nice and dry.

The tuck-away rope strap secures your cord en route to your favorite crag, and the stowable rain hood even doubles as a helmet holder. Inside the pack, you'll find multiple organizer pockets for stashing away your phone, wallet, keys, and other small necessities. The zippered front-flap provides a handy space for storing your lunch, spare footwear, and extra layers, all without having to unload the pack's entire contents just to retrieve them. Other carry-friendly features include a thermoformed back panel, thickly padded shoulder straps, as well as a dual-density hip belt for evenly distributing heavy loads.

Tough Exterior, Features Galore

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The exterior is designed tough so you don't need to worry about throwing it down or around. Huge interior for "only" a 35L rating. Front zip opening pocket and compartments is sheer genius; it's easy to fold or stuff a North Face Thermoball or Patagonia NanoPuff jacket in there. Note: If you have a helmet, rope and lots of hardware, especially if you want your helmet inside the bag, you might step up to the Creek 50. I measured it inexactly at 23" high to the top rim of the bag, 13" side to side and 10" front to back. If you have not seen this cute promo video, click here and ENJOY! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgOw_RUKazI December 2019 update: Used this bag on my trip to MOAB and it does accommodate gear + helmet. I also used it as my carry-on for the plane trip; was surprised how many fellow travelers recognized it. Its tough skin can deal with being abused to-at-from the crag, you don't have to fret throwing it around. Finally, if you want to see how much gear you can cram into this beauty, check out this comprehensive video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rybo2ECBAc
