Black Diamond’s Momentum Climbing Shoe balances comfort with performance to help us learn how to climb comfortably. Black Diamond made this shoe’s upper out of a unique knit that boosts breathability without compromising durability. This enhanced breathability also cuts the stench that standard leather climbing shoes excrete in your car, closet, or wherever you store your climbing shoes.
Since this isn’t a leather or synthetic leather climbing shoe, the Momentum won't stretch as much as usual climbing shoes, so we recommend getting this pair in your street shoe size even though your friends are telling you to size down. The NeoFriction rubber sole is also unique in that it’s molded—as opposed to the usual cutting from one sheet of rubber—to the shoe in order to increase longevity and ensure traction on greasy, plastic footholds.

Great for gym climbing!

These are some great reasonably priced climbing shoes. I'm not a climbing expert, but these shoes do everything I need. I have size 15 feet so thanks to Backcountry for actually stocking the big stuff, and thanks to Black Diamond for support the Bigfoots out there!

Great beginner shoe

My female friend and I both bought this shoe to get started in bouldering. My friends who are avid climbers said these looked great for beginners. They do run horribly small. I’m a true 10 and I had to buy 11.5. My female friend did not have this issue. Luckily I tried these on first before I purchased. They fit nice and firm but comfy with minimal hot spots or sores. They breath better than leather for sure. Velcro is nice so they are easy on and off.

Exactly what I was looking for.

These are my first pair of non rental shoes and with out a doubt, 100 fold better. I was looking for a decently budgeted shoe for a beginner like myself and found these. somewhere in-between neutral and moderate these are exactly what I need to build up my strength and technique on the v0-3's that I'm attempting. I didn't find these to run smaller than other climbing shoes I've tried but I tend to like mine a bit tight anyway.

Good but not great.

I'm starting in outdoor Boulder and I wanted to start small, meaning budget gear and I found these shoes, I watched great reviews on YouTube and some people said get half or 1 number up, I got half number up and it the shoes fits good, obviously my fingers touch the front of the shoe and my heel is not moving, the biggest problem is the fabric material that is not stretching enough and it's hurting one of my fingers but is because of the shape of my foot, it's a good budget shoe to be honest but not so comfortable for me.

WAY too small

I read reviews saying they might be a little small, but WOW, mine were PAINFULLY small. Small to the point that I nearly cut them off of my feet because I litterally could not get out of them. Aside from the sizing, the rubber used just feels really cheap, but no other complaints.
