A lot like Patagonia Strider Pro
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Lightweight, fast dry, beautiful piece of technical fabric. Very comfortable brief liner. The shorts have 5 pockets. I really like the twin zippered pockets on the back. One is perfect for an iPhone, the other for a set of keys. The 3 side pockets however are not as advertised. They claim to be purpose built to hold sunglasses, gloves, and microspikes. I see no scenario where anything but the lightest smallest version of those items would ever fit those pockets. They would be Ok for gels and car keys. It was kind of surprising to see such perfectly sized zippered pockets and then to have such odd tension pouches. My ideal would be to marry the tension pockets from Patagonia’s Strider Pro shorts w the zippered pockets on these shorts. I also really like the exterior draw string with an inch between the reinforced eyelets so many shorts screw that up. The waistband seems very comfortable and high quality. My first impression was that some underwear manufacturer ought to take note because it seems like BD nailed the waistband. I think the waistband might be really comfortable for summer backpacking where I’m cinching down a pack belt over it. These things ain’t cheap but the quality and engineering seem to be there.

Just wondering, are these photos showing the 5" or 7" inseam? Past 40 I just don't want to be "that guy" and show too much leg at the crag. Just sayin'. Thanks in advance.
