Why We Like The Crankbrothers Mallet Enduro Pedals
Crankbrothers capitalized on their success with downhill clipless pedals by designing the Mallet Enduro Pedals. The Mallet E's are constructed on a smaller, lighter platform compared to their burlier DH sibling, with the coated polyurethane surface giving us room to fine-tune the cleat placement. Anticipating the range of weather and trail conditions the pedals will see throughout their lifetime, Crank Brothers added new Enduro cartridge bearings, Igus bushings, and reinforcement in the form of an external seal to maintain debris-free smoothness over time. A mud-shedding, four-sided entry, six adjustable pins, and customizable float and release angles round out this capable new addition to the Mallet family.

Switching from Flats
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Having only gotten into MTB a few years ago and returning from a torn ACL, always felt more comfortable on flats. However, this year I figured I would try the next step in my evolution on buy some clips. Had heard good things about the CB system and so far so good - extremely easy to clip in and (with most things) a slight learning curve to get out quickly. Bottom line is that I can get up hills with greater ease and don’t fatigue like I would in the past - being able to truly pull the pedal around is a big deal. If you are on the fence or thinking of making the jump to clips, I encourage you to do it with these pedals.
