Sleuth Cycling Shoe
Everybody knows Five Ten makes the stickiest rubber around, but the company is more renowned for making climbing, approach, and biking shoes than casual kicks like the Sleuth Shoes. That said, Five Ten's casual is different than most brands'. The Sleuth is down to kick back, but its sticky Stealth Marathon rubber helps it grip like a fiend to skate decks and dirt-jumping pedals, so you can rock it as a one-shoe quiver for all your chilled-out adventures.

I have been a five ten fan for years. It seems as through now that Adidas is really taking over what used to be a great brand is going down hill. I have owned about 5 pairs of the Sleuth over the past few years. They were my go to shoe for everything. The had simple restrained styling and a perfect fit. This new version is now Lets see how many logos we can throw on here so you can be a walking billboard. Anyways despite my reservations about the looks I was willing to give them a try since It is really hard for me to find a shoe that fits me well and the sleuth has been my favorite show for years. Needless to say this shoe was not it. In every Five Ten product I have ever owned I wear a 9. In fact I wear either a 9 or 9.5 in every shoe I own, but not this one. 9 is super long and super narrow I would need an 8.5, but those would be ever narrower. Anyways I am done with five ten and it makes me sad. I know they got bought out by adidas awhile ago, but they seemed to be doing their own thing up until recently. I don't know what I expected this is the same company that makes Yeezys trying to make mountain bike shoes.

disgusted with the purchase
- Familiarity:

These shoes are downright dangerous. Silly me. I had no idea there was apparently multiple types of stealth rubber. I ride at a high level and aggressively. My typical riding lately is chunky rock garden / rooty cross country. My feet *constantly* slide around on the pedals. I can no longer pedal through rough terrain. I have to spend a ton of focus just ensuring I don't lose my pedals now. There is ZERO stickiness to the soles. There is ZERO grip to the soles. If I hit a rocky section or a big root at speed I'm lucky if my feet stay in one place. If it's rough, not a chance to pedal through it. My shins and calves are marked up due to this BS. Yes, my feet have even slipped forward off the pedals during a rough section. These shoes are pointless. I have never been so upset with a shoe purchase. I feel like a complete idiot for deciding to get these as it's money lost. I've been using five ten shoes for probably fifteen years, always the impact models. Seeing as how those models have ludicrously increased in price over the time I decided to get the cheaper ones since they still said stealth rubber. Well they're utter pieces of S***. I've given them 4 rides now and every ride has been the same upsetting experience. Do not get these if you intend to ride anything rough at all. I would return them if I could. I feel like I've been ripped off.

Ordered a half size under what I normally wear and the shoe fit perfectly. Tried it out on the trails and had no slip even after getting wet in a few creek crossings. They’re comfortable enough to wear around after I ride too

Stellar MTB Shoe on and off Trails
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it

I recently purchased these shoes since increasing my riding frequency to 1-2 times/week. I was wearing standard tennis shoes on flat pedals, and my shoes were getting wrecked between the pegs and toe-strikes on technical sections. The 5-10s have held up great! They were ready to go out of the box, keep my feet snug on the pedals through fast, rooty sections, and have sustained heavy blows with no signs of wear and tear. I even get complements on the shoes when grabbing beer after rides. Overall, this shoe feels like a solid value purchase, and I’m well pleased! I did get a 1/2 size smaller than what I wear in New Balances though.

Great for everything
I bought these shoes to rip my hardtail around town. At this point I like them more than my freeriders. More comfortable, look way better, and more grippy (likely because of the fresh rubber). Something I didn't expect out of them is that I get compliments on them when I'm just out walking around (from non-mtb people). If you're looking for a shoe that fits in equally on the trails or around town this is them.

Comfy and Grippy
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I love these shoes, I went from Danny's pro model to these and the transition was nice. These are a tad looser on the sizing and I got the same size as before, but they still work great. I was pleasantly surprised these don't get soaking wet right away when riding in the rain- until my foot goes straight into the puddle. Overall, I love the grip, the comfort, and the look of these shoes. Definitely will buy again when the time comes.
