Why We Like The Flylow Firebird Bib Pant

FlyLow created the Firebird Bib with all-time storm days in mind. Those days when burning quads, frozen faces, and sopping wet outerwear started to pick off powder skiers one by one. The waterproof shell fends off sleet and snow, while articulated knees and the breathable softshell panel on the back are bootpack-friendly so you won't overheat during a quick hike. Whether you're sending it into Corbett's or snorkeling through blower pow in Hokkaido, the Firebird is designed to keep you dry and comfortable. Well, as comfortable as you can be until you send it a little too hard and tomahawk under the chair. That one's on you.

Great Bib Fit Was Not That Weird

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I did not read the reviews prior to purchase and glad I didn't. Maybe I have a weird shaped body, I don't know. I got a large and they fit true to the size chart. Yes, they are pretty baggy in the legs, but become more tapered as you work your way to the shoulders. I do not mind baggy ski wear though. If you want something more slim probably not the product you want. There are velcro straps on the side to tighten the waist if needed. They have great pockets and massive vents down the legs. Color was great and I am excited to get these on the hill. The video of the product is the best depiction.

NO ROOM AROUND THE MIDSECTION! Length is good, plenty of room for the legs. If you want to wear a sweatshirt underneath your bib, you will have trouble unless you’re a toothpick. Quality of fabric looks good though

fit is weird

Familiarity:

Medium

I own the Foxy version in women's and they are flattering and functional......so I bought what seemed like the male equivalent. The functionality of these pants is the same and awesome, but the fit is very weird and the pant legs seem like park/snowboard worthy. If you want to ice climb or backcountry ski, the pant legs are too voluminous to fit in gators and are not fitted enough for backcountry skinning.

Terrible design and weird fit

Large

I purchased a Medium and it feels like I am wearing parachute pants - There is enough space in each leg hole to easily fit 3 legs. there is so much space I could wear 5 pairs of sweat pants layered on top of eachother and there would still be space for air and snow to get in.

Very Strange Fit

Familiarity:

I'll echo most reviews here, the fit is very strange. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and wear a 35/32 pant and Large slim shrits. The torso on these was snug, definitely not something I'd be comfortable in all day. The bottom half in a Large were huge. These are well designed high end bibs (pockets, buckles, mesh back and fabric are top totch) but the implementation of fitting these to normally shaped humans is way off. I went with the MH Boundary Ridge in a Large.

The design of these bibs was well thought out. Material is also what I expected. Color was great! However, the legs are too full. The fullness is through the entire leg. Rise of the bib is on the shorter side. Get the fit right and this will be a great product.

Horrible fit

Familiarity:

Size Bought:
34 waist

Way too big in legs and too tight in waist/chest to wear anything under it. Unless you are a body builder with huge legs and glutes and a chiseled waist, these bibs won't fit you. I wear a 38 pant yet the XXL was too snug in the waist. Legs were roomy with no taper whatsoever.

Really Weird Fit

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

The top was extremely tight and too small based on the size chart dimensions and the legs were massively wide. They look great in the pics but the pair I got was no good, retuned immediately. Runs small up top and large on the legs

Not the fit for me

Provided these fit you, I am sure they are bomber in all conditions. My one gripe beyond the sizing is not having a side zip to get into them easier, but otherwise very well made, good pocket placement and very nice face fabric. The main problem for me was that they felt like wearing a corset on top and then 90's JNCO jeans on the bottom. I could imagine an XL would fit better around my chest, but then I would have sleeping bags hanging off my legs. Bad experiment. I went with the Mountain Hardwear Boundary Ridge in a Large/Regular and they are perfect.
