Not insulated
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
As far as I can tell, the pants I received were not insulated--instead they have a thin liner. The pant is so thin and the liner is so thin, these are the thinnest ski pants that I've tried on. The material is very flexible, and it looks like polyester. I don't think the quality measures up against the Marmot Refuge pant that I recently tried on. I am a 36 waist, and the XL size HH pant was too big with the waist straps done up as tight as they would go, while the Large size was very tight around the waist and hips with the waist straps as loose as they would go. The rise from the crotch to the waist band is also much too low, and I think ski pants should be cut higher in the back, which HH doesn't do. I think the pockets are cut too low on the hips making them a long reach. For comparison, I wear a size XL in Burton Heavy Weight X Baselayer; size L in Smartwool Merino 250 bottom; size XL in most other pants, although with the XL Marmot Refuge pant I had to tighten the waist straps all the way, so I'm going to try a size Large to see if they fit better. I think at this price point, the Marmot Refuge pant or the slightly cheaper insulated Quicksilver Utility pant is the way to go.

Great Pants Slimmer Fit

Love the fit of these pants. Feel very comfortable without being baggy, nice tight fit. Great for warmer days down to the teens. Would not recomend it for the extremely cold days
