Why We Like The Jetboil Genesis Base Camp 2 Burner Cooking System
The Jetboil Genesis Base Camp 2 Burner Cooking System is a compact two-burner stove system that runs on a standard 16.4-ounce propane bottle and allows us to whip up everything from bacon and eggs for breakfast to spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. We especially like that the compact design allows the stove to fold together and nest in the included pot for easy carrying up to camp, but also limits the amount of space the system takes up in the back of our rig when car camping.

It is a great stove system.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I own so many mountaineering stoves and lightweight backpacking stoves. I even have one of the three burner freestanding stoves. What I didn't have was a stove that was packable yet big enough to actually cook real food. This is the first Jetboil product I have ever purchased, I am usually partial to MSR. I got mine on sale elsewhere and that was the biggest reason for getting it. I have used it a few times and I have been pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of everything. The skillet bottom is slightly convex, so any oil you use falls to the outside ring of the skillet, but the non stick is incredible. I think that is one of the things I am most impressed with. I will be using this stove system when we go camping, also when we go sea kayaking. The pot is large enough to boil crab and make chowders for sure, the lid strainer is a nice feature and I also like the coated swivel handles on the pot sides. I truly believe that Jetboil came up with a complete system most families will really enjoy. The ability to use any skillet and pot is one of the reasons I was pushed away from MSR's Windburner and towards this stove. If you can get past the initial cost, I think anyone would be pleased with their purchase.
