Fast and efficient
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is the only portable stove I’ve owned, so I can’t compare it to other products. But damn this is a nice piece of kit! Boils water in less than 2 minutes. Compact. Light. I made some kimchi ramen soup, threw in an egg and some beef steak, turned out primo.

Fast and efficient

I finally purchased a jet boil after many years. I took this on my most recent backpacking trip in Montana and I loved using it! It is a little hefty and takes up more room then I wish it did. I also wish it had a little bit more measurement information on the inside on the stove to help measuring water out for meals. It does boil within a few minutes and kept well under cold conditions.

Don’t Leave Home Without It
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought this after using a friend’s Jetboil Flash and WOW did the MiniMo exceed my expectations. It is light, compact, and keeps almost everything you need together in 1 canister. In have not put it through the ringer (yet), but it has performed flawlessly even throughout torrential downpours and high winds. The igniter has worked every time (I did have to bend the metal wire on one occasion so the spark ignited the burner but that was my fault) and the simmer control is a really nice feature. My only suggestion for improvement is to have a snap or lock on lid for the top - I still give it 5 stars and definitely recommend it, but a more secure lid would be nice.

Great Setup

Although it does take a bit of space in your pack, the reliability and convenience is worth it. I've used several times when backpacking and in adverse weather conditions. The igniter is very convenient and works great. It boils water in a couple minutes (literally) and cleans very well with its non-stick surface. You can fit a 100g fuel canister inside, with the stove, if you lay them on their sides. Plus, with the Flux ring on the bottom, it burns fuel so efficiently that a 100g canister will go a long way. I got my Minimo in Multicam, however the stove is black, not green.

Leans like the tower of piza
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Both units I received (original order and replacement) are crooked. They lean to such a degree that the stove has to be on an unlevel surface in order to safely boil without risking boilover. For $150, this shouldnt be a problem. I'll stick to my 15 year old jetboil. They were made more reliably, back in the day.

Not bad, not great
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought it because it has an igniter and the ability to simmer, which my former, less expensive camp stove did not have. It takes up more space in my backpack because you can't nest the canister in the cup (unless you buy the 100g ones, which you'll need to carry more of than the 230g so that beats the purpose). It works well when you can ignite it, but I've had too many times where the igniter just doesn't work. Sent it in for repair, igniter was replaced, and within 3 uses it doesn't work anymore, despite following the manufacturer's directions (not to place the cup until after the stove was ignited). The idea is great, the quality not so much. Yes, I can (and do) carry a lighter with me, but if that's the case why spend so much money on a stove with a feature that doesn't work? An igniter is a pretty basic piece, if it fails so quickly and often there's a QA issue, that shouldn't arise with an expensive stove.
