Instead of pulling the ol' banana peel slip and eating it on icy trails, strap on the Kahtoola MICROspikes Traction System for instant footing and more graceful movement. Burly stainless steel cleats are connected by flex chains and an elastomer harness for a snug and secure fit and high performance traction.
With a new lower profile harness, eyelet reinforcements, and an integrated toe bale, these MICROspikes are the lightest and lowest profile version yet. A heel tab makes the system a breeze to get on or off, and a sturdy front bar holds it in place up front. Whether you're walking the dog, fishing on a frozen river, or doing that high-altitude hike to an icy peak, the MICROspikes help you keep your footing and prevent your butt from hitting the ground. And now the MICROspikes come with a tote sack so you have somewhere to store them when you get to lower elevations.

Winter Hike Must Have
- Familiarity:

FL boy goes to UT to hike in Bryce Canyon and Zion in the winter - definitely glad I bought these as several trails were icy and I saw plenty of people sliding their way down. Having these made it easier to enjoy the scenery and hike and not have to worry too too much about sliding off a hillside. Got the medium size and they fit snugly on my 9.5 On CloudRock hiking boots. If I had bought the large I feel there would be too much extra chain underneath my shoe.

I use these crampons throughout our typical New England season and they are fantastic! Easy to don and doff. Traction is remarkable and have never slipped whether uphill or down. Also, I swap these between my trail sneakers when the temps are above freezing when ice is still present. Hands down great added insurance to avoid a fall.

Excellent traction
Would’ve given five stars but one of the links separated after about the first 15 miles. Thankfully I only needed to bend it back with pliers. I’ve walked 100 miles in them since then and have had no other issues

Perfect for icy trails!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These spikes are perfect for icy trails. My friend had shoe chains that had coils and they weren't enough for the extremely slippery spots. The micro spikes ensured that I had great footing at all times and were easy to put on and walk around in. I wear a female size 9 and the medium spikes fit perfectly around my Sorrels.

Better grip than boots in the summer
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These spikes are the answer! Just got back from an annual backpacking trip with my brother and these spikes were a game changer. They provided better grip on frozen snow and slick ice than my boots offer in the summer. They are light, durable, easy to take on and off and really do provide you the extra confidence you need to keep pushing even as terrain gets bad. I was impressed at how well they stood up to a long portion of the hike that traversed an exposed ridge line where rock and ice offered no cushion. As someone who has hiked way too many frozen trails in the coils meant for walking around a city I can confidently say these were worth every penny!
