Why We Like The Durand II Mid Waterproof Wide Hiking Boot
The Keen Durand II Waterproof Hiking boot thrives in wet climates and during shoulder seasons when rain is always right around the corner. The Keen.Dry membrane keeps the pesky water out while you trudge through wet grass and muddy trails, while also allowing your feet to breathe and stay dry with the assistance of the moisture wicking mesh liner. The 4mm lugs on the rubber outsole allow you to step with confidence on those same muddy trails while, the EVA footbed provides the support and cushion you need to power your way to the summit.

Disappointment
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I thought that Keen might have their shit together with the release of a supposed new and improved Durand 2.. Didn't even last 2months and they already have a broken stitch on the toe box. I love the fit of keen and they are always great boots, but EVERY pair I've owned has broken on me. That's 6 different pair of keen. 5 of them being the original Durands. Always broke right through the toe box, regulars and wides. The only reason I kept getting them is because of REIs return policy. I was done with Durands after I broke through both toe boxes on my Tahoe Rim Trail hike through. I gave the durand 2s a shot because I thought they may have improved, but not even 2 months and they've already started falling apart. And to think I bought these for another TRT through hike....
