A fine pant? Yes. Awesome? No.

I have Vidda Pros, and based on my initial impressions I just won't wear these. I'm returning them; they're not bad per se, but in comparison to other similar pants they just don't hit the mark. - the second layer knee padding is heavy (pro for me), but it rises very high (nearly crotch level, con), and only goes an inch or two below the knee (con; the most wear is always at or below knee for me). - the second layer is quite stiff (con for me), other pants have done the second layer quite comfortably. - the ankle snaps are too close to the elastic band, meaning it doesn't cinch very tightly. If you do cinch it tightly, you'll likely have a bunch of the loose band flapping around. The ankle snaps are done better by competitors. - the pockets and vents are very nice though, lest it sound like I'm trashing these pants altogether. Overall, for me, these just weren't as awesome as very similar function pants I have and that means I won't wear them.

First and foremost, Backcountry is an awesome store, cool people, cool items, cool prices.... Above the law pants are simply the best work pants I've ever owned. Real rugged look, perfect fit, totally comfortable... It's true what they say, you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a pair. Kuhl has quality stuff....
