Runs Small
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:

As some others have noted, I found that these run small. I ordered a size US 12.5 (EU 46.5) which I wear in some other brands, and immediately knew they were much too short for me. I don't know if Mammut's size US 13 would work or not. If they had one, I'd like to try it, but even that might be too small, based on what I'm seeing with the US 12.5. For the little I am able to walk in it inside (can only fit my foot in if I only wear only a thin liner sock) it does have ankle support, and lateral stiffness that suggests it would do well on slope traverses. This seems rare in boots this light, so I like that. It appears to be a promising boot. Wish they had my size.

Not the choice if you have wide feet

I don't have experience with technical climbing in these; however have put 70 miles on them in the Brooks Range of Alaska. They handled clumping snow and rain very well, the tread is easy to knock snow out against rocks. The tread performs so well even if wet, still need spikes for walking on glacial ice, I was skipping rock to rock across rivers seamlessly at pace too. The boots are warm even while damp at the cuff. I really like the material on the cuff. The toe box is just wide enough for my feet but any wider would be uncomfortable, the heel is snug. I love how low the laces go down too, you can really get a customizable fit around the toes and ankle.

Killer alpine boot

I've used this boot on technical rock, snow and glacier routes and love them. The fit is great with a snug heal pocket and just wide enough toe box. The flex allows for a natural walk but is stiff enough for technical climbing as well. It is warm for its weight and remains dry in even the wettest conditions

Almost Perfect

This boot runs just a bit on the small size. I ordered my normal size 10 along with two other boot brands. This boot was small. Will return for a 10.5. The boot is well constructed and comfortable. I recommend but consider a 1/2 size up.
