This protective shell with fully-taped seams offers 10K-rated waterproof protection and more breathable comfort than last year's version, thanks to Marmot's new NanoPro waterproof membrane and eco-friendly DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The DriClime mesh chin guard further enhances comfort by quickly wicking excessive sweat or breath moisture away, and the double storm flap over the front zipper ensures that rain drops don't sneak in through the cracks. Your boy will be able to throw the brimmed hood over his head during a downpour without losing peripheral vision, and if it clears up, he can roll the hood back into the collar to keep it out of the way. The jacket is constructed for free movement, and though lightweight overall, features recycled nylon ripstop fabric that holds up to his regular rough-and-tumbling.

Small as a baseball; tough like a gator

Been out with my nine year old too many times; clouds come around, or night falls, wind picks up; whatever; and we've got to head back to the car or go hide in some shelter for a while. No excuses anymore; out comes this thing; and swoosh; instant additional 20 degree protection from the elements. Me? I feel like a proper parent; because I'm now able to pop this thing out of the backpack. Haha, other parents looking over at me like I'm super dad when I whip this thing out of the pack; kids looking at me like I'm Captain Outdoorsman or something. Nothing beats the bright eyed full pupil dilation look from a kid either. Highly recommended++ My kid is 55"; and el chunko at 105 pounds; evenly distributed top bottom; arms legs chest waist etc. The size L fits him; with just a little bit of wiggle room when worn over a t-shirt/long sleeve shirt combo. *add a small "S" clip to the hanging loop - makes it too easy to hang to a tent strap, or inside the camper*
