Backcountry super hero.

Back and better than ever, the MSR PocketRocket 2 Stove takes everything that you loved about the iconic original and puts it into an even smaller and lighter package for quick meals deep in the backcountry. Weighing in at a meager four ounces, the Pocket Rocket 2 uses a compact folding design to pack down exceptionally small and save you precious space in your already crowded backpack.

Its ability to boil one liter of water in three and a half minutes comes to the rescue when you reach camp after a grueling trek in and hunger's been knocking down your door for the past hour, while its precision flame control ranges from torch to simmer to meet your cooking needs. And if conditions turn breezy, count on the WindClip windshield to help you get the job done before the clouds roll in.

This little stove is really easy to use...simmer to boil, it does it all. Get the can stand as an add on to make the stove more stable...it will save you time and worry when cooking on uneven surfaces.

On a motorcycle you are in a position to keep your gear pretty light. This is a beautiful, amazing tool to guarantee a hot meal and allow for that extra blanket in my panniers. Love it!

more bombproof kit from msr

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

ever the tinkerer, thought I'd try out a Vargo BOT (c'mon BC--stock it) with a butane stove and this little unit ticked all the boxes for the heat source. I can get this, lighter, canister, 'legs' (pinched off my jetboil) etc all in the BOT. But--I may as well take my jetboil as it would function the same and size is about the same. Beauty of the BOT, is you can store (sealed) 1L of water in there on the trail and then cook in it and eat of out it (its a Ti pot with a sealing, screw top lid afterall). I have the Honaker bag from Bedrocks which holds the BOT (with water) and the fuel can/legs on top inside the bag and mounts on the bike (I put it on the downtube of the frame). The little carry case for this stove fits just about anywhere--for me, for now--pushed into the nose of my framepack. I expect years of use to come.
