Why We Like The Bridger Mid B-Dry Hiking Boot
Leather hiking boots are as classic as chunky wool socks, A-frame tents, and marshmallows on sticks, but the Oboz Bridger Mid BDry Hiking Boot isn't as old-fashioned as that trifecta. The upper is made from nubuck, just like our parents' old boots, but it's lined with a BDry waterproof and breathable membrane, so our feet stay dry on sloppy trails and rainy days.
Support is served up by the dual-density EVA midsole and BFit deluxe insole, which prop up your arch and cushion the ball of your feet, while stability and rock protection come courtesy of the TPU chassis and nylon shank. Oboz's chunky and heavily lugged Granite Peak rubber sole finish the Bridger off with a burly, grippy bottom that improves traction, braking, and stability on off-camber trails.

Oboz Bridger

Very nice boot, but this hiking boot runs small. I wear a 12 in almost every shoe but these boots are tight at the toes they are very narrow. 1/2 size up should cure it. Excellent quality, well made. Just letting people know for future purchases to go a 1/2 size up.

I'm hard on my hiking boots, having hiked more than 10,000 miles in the past ten years in places known for wrecking footwear, such as Arizona, Australia, and Pennsylvania. And Oboz Bridgers have held up better than any other hiking boots I've owned. Durability-wise, my last pair lasted more than 1200 miles. Traction-wise, I often pass hikers half my age on steep descents due to this boot's aggressive outsoles and deep heel brake, which dig into loose surfaces really well (scree, gravel, mud, etc). Comfort-wise, Oboz features upmarket insoles, solid foot support, and plenty of cushion, which works well for my messed up feet and ankles. We all have different feet and prefer different kinds of hiking. But the Bridger is my go-to boot for moderate to difficult hikes that require solid foot and ankle support.

I have planter fasciitis

I tried Merrells in a store, and thought "they feel great." I decided you never know, and headed somewhere else from there. I tried on these Oboz, and was mind blown! That was two years ago. I have not had tons of time for hiking, I have only hiked in these several times. But, for my planter fasciitis, I have worn these boots 6 to 10 hours, 4 to 6 days per week, for the last 2 years, taking steps, with very few breaks, walking, usually on hard tile, or roads. I sometimes even work out in these. Lol With that said, 2 years later now, they are still keeping the planter fasciitis arch problems under arrest!, and they are still odorless. lol Thank you Oboz. I still brag about them, I LOVE these boots.

Just not ready for prime time

This is my fourth pair of Oboz boots (my second Bridger 3-season, and I've gone through 2 pairs of Bridger Insulated). I fell in love with them initially because of the comfort (I have feet that are a challenge to fit, and these fit like a glove). I've had to return the first 3 pairs because of water leaks at the outside pivot points (near my great and smallest toes), and I'm now attempting to return my 2nd pair of 3-season Bridger boots because the orange segments on the bottom soles are delaminating and falling off. I keep a hiking log, and the soles are falling apart after about 140 miles. Another issue I've noticed with these boots is that they don't grip well, and I tend to slip and slide where the other hikers I'm with don't have any issues. It's happened so many times that I think there is an issue with the grip of these soles. I wanted to love these boots, as they're very comfortable, but I'm afraid they're just not ready for prime time.

Great shoe - lousy shipping process

These are probably my tenth pair of Oboz. I am always careful when rating footwear because, in case you didn’t notice, we all have different feet. The shoes fit me like a glove. They are one of only two brands I wear. Traction is very good. Comfort is the best. Durability is top notch and I am tough on them. I am a landscaper and landscape designer. Recently, the pair I ordered were shipped via the UPS/USPS method. The package arrived at my local PO in two days. Then it went on a five state trip before it returned to the same local PO and was delivered. This happens nearly every time this method is used. The USPS is the most unreliable type of delivery service on the planet and have proven it time and time again. I will not place another order when this is the method of shipping. I tried to share this with a BackCountry rep and was provided a canned pat on the head response. Very disappointing. The warehouse is 150 miles from my home. I just ordered from another vendor and had product in my hands in two days.

I have more of a flat foot, so I'm unsure if the arch would be bothersome. Is there different types of insoles I can get?
