I Love my Sombriolet Sun Hat - Men's

I Believe I purchased my Medium size Men's Sombriolet Sun Hat in either 2012 or 2013. I made the purchase because I was doing tours in NYC Central Park and the sun was beaming hot many days. As the sun beamed on your head you just felt drained. But to my surprise after purchasing my Lovely Sombriolet Sun Hat, I realized that while doing the tour's I no longer felt tired and drained out in the sun. I knew it was due to the large brim keeping the sun out of my face, and off of the back of my neck as well as keeping my head cool. I Love the Chin Strap, so when it is windy I don't have to worry about losing my hat. I just tighten the strap. It dries quickly too, after being wet. It was also deep enough for my head if I wanted to pull it all the way down on my head. It kept my head cool and it was the best discovery ever. Then I started to notice how tired and drained the other people out their with me looked & they could not handle the sun. They would say I am tired and I need to sit down. Some would just leave and go home. But now just to share, it is July 28, 2021 and I am still sporting my Lovely Men's Sombriolet Sun Hat all these years later and enjoying the compliments given to me on my hat while wearing it. I washed it and it still looks new and wonderful. By the way I also purchased the same type of hat but for the rain but I haven't used that one just yet. I've Just been Enjoying my Sun Hat Every chance I get. It's Just So Lovely and it Does it's Job! Fantastic. A Woman Enjoying a Man's Hat. It fit's perfectly on my head. My head size is 22 1/4" or 22.25 Circumference.

Decent hat but sizing is way too small

Medium should fit me, according to the sizing chart but it is too small. My noggin is average sized and I shave my head, so the next size up will probably be too big. Too expensive to return to backcountry.com so I will just find someone with a small head and give it to them (child maybe since it is too small for my wife as well). Disappointed in OR Gear which used to b my go to for hats - I ordered a no name boonie hat from Amazon for $15 (free shipping and free returns) and that will be my go to hiking hat.

I'm a Letter Carrier / Mailman for USPS & Walk around 15 to 20 miles a Day in The Montana Sun. And was looking for a wide brimmed Hat to keep the sun off my Neck & Face. This fit the bill perfectly so far, I would Recommend this to anyone who spends a lot of time in the Sun.

My favorite hat for outdooractivities

I've only worn this hat 4 times since purchasing it earlier this month. On a long walk in the neighborhood, sitting in the garden, and on a casual bike ride. I haven't yet tried to wash this hat but when I do I would never try to stick this in the wash machine. Most likely, I would throw this in a bin to soak, handwash, and then air dry in sun. Cons: Runs small. Definitely take a look at the sizing chart before purchasing. Pros: As a person who wears prescription glasses outdoors 90% of the time, this hat has the right brim size to keep the sun out of my eyeglasses which magnify the scorching sun whenever I wander away from an area with shade. I'm able to tilt the hat back if I want a better view of my surroundings without it falling off my head. The chin strap is comfortable, works great and prevents sudden gusts of wind from blowing the hat off my head. Shoved this in my backpack because I was in a hurry to leave the house, but it sprung back into its normal shape after 15 minutes of being outside my bag. Also, on a really humid day it kept me cool and I didn't feel overheated while wearing on a 1 hour hike. I have this hanging on hook right by the door so I take it anytime I plan on being outdoors even if I don't wear it. Would be great for wearing at the beach, paddling, outdoor farmers market, and hiking.

Finally Have To Get A New One

I’ve had the Sunbriolet for over 4 years now. That’s about 10 trips to the beach along with 4 summers in the Deep South working outside. It’s extremely comfortable, and as you can see, durable!
