In my opinion this is one of the best hats for hiking, running, summer activities. Lightweight on your head and let’s your head breathe so you don’t sweat as much as you do with other hats. I own several, in all different colors . I hike the Adirondack’s in New York and it seems the most experienced hikers are wearing these hats. Backcountry’s customer service is second to none. Absolutely great gearheads, especially Benjamin and Ryan Potts. Ryan rocks. One complaint about one of my hats. I have the blue one and the clip in back disconnects. Not sure if because of wear.

I purchased a second hat in black ... my first khaki. They are the prefect hat for me. Comfortable fit ... no baseball hat dig in the forehead. The vents provide the right amount of cooling. Might just get another another one different color!

Just what I wanted

I bought this hat mostly for bad hair days--but also for hiking. I can't wear most normal profile hats and this lower profile fits well and looks good. The hat is very lightweight. I like the mesh. It keeps my head cool. The orange is a great color. I've been wearing it more and more for all sorts of activities. I haven't taken it on a multi-day river trip yet but it's been great to put on after kayaking. The quality seems good but it is so lightweight I wonder if it will last. I hope so.
