Great except cuff size varies

Very comfortable and good looking, but the size of the cuffs on the sleeves varies across items (see photo). The first one I received from Backcountry had big cuffs that slid over my hands. The attached photo is of three different items of the same jacket that I took while at another retailer.

stylish and practical

I wear my better sweater full zip every where. literally. I wear it around the house all fall and winter. I wear it as a jacket when we go out. I wear it at work when I'm cold. I wear it on the trail. I wear it resort snowboarding. I wear it splitting. It's unbelievable. I'm literally considering buying another one as I sit here typing this! For comparison, I'm 5'8, 165lbs and I wear a medium. I've had it for 2.5 years and it still looks great. I can wear it under my hardshell or can layer stuff up under it and wear it on the outside. I love the way it looks. It's slightly fitted at my size. Maybe I could wear a small, but then I wouldn't be able to fit much under it. The zippers are rock solid. It's pretty warm too (although I am very cold tolerant, so I might not be the best judge). The chest pocket is great and the side pockets are large enough to stash stuff in. The drawbacks are 1 - it doesn't breath well. It traps my heat like an emergency blanket. On a winter ADK trip last year I had to shed it and shove it in my pack. That's drawback 2 - it doesn't stuff down really well. It's pretty bulky. So, why 5 stars? Patagonia doesn't market it as a technical fleece so I can't take penalize my better sweater for not performing in an environment it is not meant for. That being said, know it's limitations and buy one anyway!

Love the design. It's a tad darker than depicted in the photo, which I like. It's a very classy look, and I'm excited to break it in. This is not my first Better Sweater, so I'm stoked to know that I'll enjoy this sweater for a long time to come.

Awesome classic look

Quite warm as long as you have a wind resistant layer. This fleece is built like a knitted sweater so it's only major downfall is that wind cuts straight through. The look and cut is a combo of classic and athletic and it's become a common jest that the better sweater is the new white coat because so many medical residency programs buy these for their residents (looks great with a dress shirt and tie).

Wrist cuffs are huge.

The elastic wrist cuffs do not constrict the fabric at all. It is as if this was given to a big person who rolled up the sleeves to his biceps permanently stretching out the cuffs so that they will never be at your wrist. Too annoying to wear.
