Other reviews mention this jacket is really made for a tall person and they are right! I'm 6 feet tall, 140 pounds and a small fits me perfectly! The length is just where I like it, the sleeves are perfect, and it is nicely fitted around the midsection. I would go up a size if I wanted to layer underneath but I am more likely to use a heavy vest over the top. The navy is a lovely color, too.

Unfortunately not for me :(

I’m 5’2” about 160lbs and I ordered a large. The material is amazing and I wanted so much for this jacket to be “the one” since I know so many people that have it and love it. I love how lightweight and packable it is but that’s where it stops. The fitted cut was not flattering on me and was too long. The arms were very long on me and gathered way too much at the cuff that I would have had to fold them over. I even went to a Patagonia store to try on a men’s fit and still very awkward on me. For the price, there was no way I was going to justify keeping it. Had to return and exchanged for TNF Thermoball jacket in a men’s medium because I like a looser cut I can layer under it. Totally happy with that one.

This is a wonderful jacket. Very lightweight, yet still warm and perfect for travelling. But I am very disappointed in it as it is only made for tall people. I want it to fit like the picture, but it is way too long. Comes down below my butt. I kept it for awhile, trying it on again and again, but have decided that for the price, I will never be happy with it and can't justify keeping it. I guess I will try the bomber jacket next. Patagonia definitely needs to offer petites. There are a lot of us out there.

Just perfect

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. It’s lightweight but surprisingly warm. It’s perfect for layering and it’s super soft and comfortable. I was surprised how small the sizing was - I’m usually a small in Patagonia jackets. I’m curvy- 5’2 150 and the medium fit me everywhere but the hips were SO tight. I returned for a large and the arms are a bit long but I can layer anything underneath it. The jacket goes right below my butt.

I love this Jacket! It is warm and comfortable. It can stuff itself into the pocket which makes it perfect for hiking. Stores very easily. Sizing is a bit tricky. This is made for someone tall or at least with a long torso. I'm only 5'2" with a short torso. I normally wear Medium, but I got a Large becuase the Medium was snug on my hips. Even though I got a large it isn't overly big. It's a great mid layer and I've used it as my outer layer when the weather is cool and breezy.

I have both the Patagonia Torrentshell and the Better Sweater in xs. I'm 115lbs., 5'3" and can wear sweaters or other thicker shirts under them. I ordered this in xs but it's more of a snug fit than the other products I have in the same size. I can't comfortably wear this over certain shirts for layering up when it gets chilly. I'd recommend sizing up.
