Don't buy from Backcountry! Out $600

Don't buy from Backcountry! Out $600 The item is fine, however, don't buy anything from Backcountry if you want to be able to have the option of returning the item. I have been given the runaround from customer service for orders dating back 1+ year ago, and have spent over an hour on chat with 2 reps. I'm being told that my returns were "used," did not have the original tags, and a strong odor. All orders had a tag on them, and there was absolutely not an odor. I do not smoke, do not have pets, and shower daily :). The items were worn for less than 5 minutes to try them on. Moreover, based on my order history, I clearly purchased multiple items in different sizes because I was unsure which one would fit. I am also being told that a return I shipped back nearly 2 months ago (and can prove it was delivered via UPS tracking) cannot be refunded at this time because it has not been processed yet. The icing on the cake was the rep telling me that because my other two orders were marked as "used" extra scrutiny is being applied to my situation. Now, I am stuck with nearly $600 of store credit in my account (when I will never be shopping here again), and backcountry refused to refund my original payment method. DO NOT BUY FROM BACKCOUNTRY! If you do, be aware that you are rolling the dice and will be expected to chase down and confirm your own returns, and you are at the mercy of the returns team and their lack of organization I have never, ever run into these issues purchasing Patagonia items directly from Patagonia, or from Dick's, REI, etc. Even Amazon is way more lenient. Do yourself a favor and just buy it from somewhere else. Good riddance.

Wanted to love this!
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I really wanted to love this coat. On me, 5’6” 135 lbs, it’s very fitting through the waist. It shows every curve, which didn’t feel flattering on me. It’s a great coat, and if you are thin through the mid section, you’ll love this coat. For the cost, I need to love the way I feel in it. I’m returning unfortunately.

This is a really nice parka and so cute! I purchased for a trip to MN, it's really lightweight and packable as described, so great for travel, it appears that it will keep you warm in extreme temps when layered--if in doubt, I'd say get it!

I’m usually a size Small but the Small was snug under arms and upper torso so I sized up to a Medium and it’s fits perfectly. I’m 5’7 and weigh 138. The Century Pink color is more of a cinnamon color. Very pretty but was hoping for a more orangey color. I ended up exchanging it for the White which I love.

Great coat for errands and picking up my kids from school! It’s light enough I can keep it on in the car but warm enough to be out in the cold for short periods!

I originally bought a medium, but exchanged it for a large. The hips were a bit tight in the medium (I wear an 8 pants). It is very lightweight, but I do find the upper arms a bit tight at times. The length is perfect for my height. I was looking for a jacket that went mid thigh. I also like the double zipper so I can open the bottom part when sitting in the car. I am very happy with the coat. Very warm.

A bit too long, would have preferred it to just sit higher on the thigh area. Also would have preferred a hoodie. Will be returning unfortunately

Is this machine washable?

How warm is this compared to a down coat? Packability is not my main concern. Just wondering about warmth. Thanks.
