These shoes had barely any break in period and have become my go to for most of my trail runs. I like that they’re light and a lot less bulky feeling than the Sense Ride 3s. I feel like I can have a speedier day on trail without feeling like I’m going to roll an ankle in too much shoe. On top of being really light weight they’re responsive enough with also some good cushion and a comfortable fit. I would mostly wear these on dirt roads, paths, trails and easier single track. Being in New England with very rocky and technical terrain I would want something with a little more protection for big days in the mountains. Otherwise, these are my go to for most days and a valuable addition to my trail running arsenal. I would recommend them for anyone looking for an all around everyday trail runner because they’re easily broken in and incredibly reliable.

Roomier than 3

I really like the balance of stability and flexibility in this shoe. Unfortunately it’s about a half size too big for me and with a thinner, more comfortable tongue, they’re too roomy. If I had sized down, I think this would be my second favorite pair of Salomon trail shoe next to the Ultra Pro.

Great trail shoe!

This shoe feels smooth and stable on the trails! The fit is comfortable and even though it is not available in wide, I found there to be enough give in the toe box making for a nice ride throughout the run.

Cushy for long runs!

These are my go to for longer less technical runs. Less technical because they are a bit more bulky than the other shoes so it's harder to be agile with them but they are perfect for gravel/lightly technical long runs to keep your feet happy for the distance!

Best shoe to date!

I have been running with the Sense Ride 3 for a while and didn't think the shoe could get better. But it did! The updated Sense Ride 4 is even more comfortable, super light and responsive. It's a wider shoe than the Speedcross so I always pick a thicker sock. I will definitely keep buying it for my future runs and races.

The Sense Ride 4 is giving with great cushion, without being too squishy or soft. The upper is also very comfortable and soft. I think this is a great shoe to use for longer runs and/or when you just want a little more under your feet!

As a trail and ultra runner, the Salomon Sense Ride has always been one of my favorite go-to's when I am on my long runs. I love the traction on the shoe, and that awesome, light weight feeling. I loved the update on the 4s, and I find this shoe to be very true to size. I have always worn a 7.5 in this shoe, and still do.

Great for the Trails!

I love the traction these shoes offer. Compared to the Salomon Speedcross, they're a little a bit wider and have less intense traction but the same great grip. They're great for dry, rocky, technical trails. I love the turquoise color (not that they'll stay that color long with how I use them)! I use them for trail and ultra running almost daily. I would definitely recommend them for trail running and hiking. They're really light weight and I like the lace lock they have. I am 5’6”, 120lbs and wear a 8.5. They fit as expected, just a bit wider for my flat and narrow feet. I also wear a 8.5 in the Speedcross for comparison.

These shoes do it all

Hiking in spring means that I was able to test these shoes out in snow, mud and dry rocky desert. And let me tell you, they are amazing! Favorite features include: - roomy toe box - treads far enough apart they shed mud - cleans up well in the washing machine The one thing I do not like about the Salomon Sense Ride 4 trail running shoe is how they look. But let us be honest, a trail running shoe is not meant to be sexy. It is meant to get you out on the trails and this shoe definitely does that. * I have the Salomon Sense Ride 4 in pastel turquoise in a size 8 and it fits perfectly.
