Surprisingly comfy; great performance
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I'm a loyal La Sportiva girl. My favorite shoes are the ladies' Kataki. They are an excellent all rounder for indoors and outdoors and at my skill level (intermediate) I rarely need anything more aggressive. I value comfort. But when i started pandemic moonboarding, I found the kataki too stiff. I ordered the Scarpa Furia Air on a friend's recommendation, and I love them on the moonboard. Very precise, sensitive, comfortable. The comfort was a surprise given their aggressive profile and tiny sizing. I initially purchased my La Sportiva size (37) but they were waaaaaaay too small. I sized up to 37.5 and I was worried they were still too small-they are a good half inch shorter than my Katakis and more narrow (see photo). They hurt to sit around in and my toes are pretty much bent in half, but as soon as I get on the wall they feel perfect! Glad i didn't size up more than half a size.
