Bought the Stoic for the mattress for a rooftop tent. Outside fabric got caught on an edge in the tent, and tore before the first trip. Patched the tear with wader repair cement, and seemed to fix it after a thorough leak test. A month into a trip to Montana, the valves leaked slowly throughout the night on the pad. Bit the bullet and ordered the Xped Megamat, haven't had any problems with the Exped since. I left the Stoic behind in Montana. If you're wondering why the Stoic is so much less expensive, than the Exped, there's a reason.

Big, Bulky, and oh so comfortable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought this in March and have used it a whole lot since. Originally I got it to use for a comfortable camping experience for me and my son in our Four Person Tent. Since then I found it so comfortable that I use it every night at home. I supplement comfort with a full size fitted waterproof quilted cover, and a fitted sheet over that. The mattress will inflate itself, just give it time. I occasionally add 3-4 puffs of air for firmness, but I have found that it's easy to make it too firm, for my comfort. Since the foam doesn't appear to be cored(solid) the surface is smooth and offers a lot of support. With at home use I add about 2 puffs of air every week or two, which isn't bad compared to most inflatables. If you have the room for this thing packed and unpacked, it's a no brainer comfort deluxe ultra super duper sleeping tool.

Haven’t had issues yet with this pad. It’s gotten a decent amount of use with guests at home, and is our deluxe camp pad. We’ve had it out 4 or 5 nights straight with guests and no issues. It packs huge so we only take this out car camping when we’re not out on group trips and can afford to have this take up about half of the space in our cargo box. We have a small SUV and this would probably take up about half of the trunk space too, but I’d rather sleep on this than an air pad while car camping. Got this on a Black Friday deal and it came in just over 50% cheaper than a Megamat, so as much as I’d love for this to pack down smaller, I love a great deal even more. That’s probably the biggest issue I see so far. Otherwise it’s pretty comfortable. Top it off with a little air using my mini air pump and it’s good to go. I’m a side sleeper and I don’t feel the ground on this at all. Definitely get the best sleep with this pad.

Leaks after 5 nights

The first trip (5 nights) it lived up to the other reviews. It was the best nights sleep I’ve ever had camping. I brought it back out a couple weeks later and it goes flat halfway through the night. It’s been used in a tent with heavy rubber floor and a camper, not exactly extreme use. WAY too expensive to crap out so soon. I’ve had better luck with the cheap air mattresses from Walmart. Reached out to steep and cheap a week ago, still no response. Save your money.

I'm a bit confused regarding the valves. I hope I have it figured out before I go camping. No owners manual included and can't find a downloadable one either.

I'll start off by saying this thing is pretty big, but that is to be expected with this comfortable of a camping pad. After purchasing the Stoic Groundwork Double Sleeping Bag, I needed to find a double pad that would work. I must say that they pair together beautifully and my car camping set up is beyond dialed. If you want at-home comfort anywhere you go, this pad is the way to go! I'd also highly recommend checking out the Groundwork Double Sleeping Bag if you are in the market for a double bag: https://www.backcountry.com/stoic-groundwork-double-sleeping-bag-20-degree-synthetic?s=a

Amazing Rooftop Tent Upgrade
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I originally planned on getting a nearly identical (except for color and brand) pad at double the price for my rooftop tent, but after seeing the positive reviews and great deal on the Stoic Double Cloud I had to give it a shot. After inflating to the perfect level, I found it even more comfortable than my latex or memory foam mattresses. The 4 inch thickness is just enough to keep me from feeling the ground in any position while the stretchy top material, foam, and air pressure provide the perfect support and contouring. It also seems pretty durable so I'm not concerned about my husky poking a hole in it with her nails.

Just unboxed this. Seems like it will be warm and comfy. Plenty big for my 6'1" frame plus another person of similar size. The cheapo mini USB pump I got online works ok with it, using the rubber part inside the valve. One inflation valve and one deflation valve, both with one way valves. I am concerned that the material right around the valve will wear more quickly, but time will tell, and I'll baby that part. The bottom material is a little more durable. Don't think slipping off will be an issue. The stuff sack included is big enough! But I wish it were a bit thicker to protect from punctures during loading and travel. Overall, a good buy so far.
Do you have a question about this product?

I recently purchased this bed, and I can't figure out how to get it to fully deflate. Both valves seem to have identical rotating pieces in the opening, and I can't figure out how to orient them to get more air to come out of the bed.
