Why We Built The Cloud Camp Bed
Camping doesn't have to be uncomfortable. We made the Cloud Camp Bed as Stoic's comfiest option for car camping, and it uses plenty of foam to offer all the cush you need to sleep soundly. Its soft, stretchy fabric has a TPU coating to protect from wet weather should you sleep outside the tent, and the bottom is reinforced to stay solid on rocky grounds. We also included a stuff sack to pack it as compact as possible.

The BEST car camping sleeping pad
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- XS
- Height:

- Weight:

Wanted to write this review for the double, but I guess backcountry stopped selling it? :( Tried it out for the first time up in Glacier National Park and wow, this thing impressed. It was like sleeping on a memory foam mattress back at home. And it's so much cheaper than its name brand counterparty. Setup is easy - just open the "inflate" hole while you're setting up your campsite, blow into it once you're done for a little extra oomph, and you're set. Only caveats are: (1) This is NOT a backpacking sleeping pad. Get yourself a therm-a-rest if you're doing that. This thing is big and bulky. (2) It is a little bit of a PITA to deflate. You'll have to work really hard at folding it over and over again to make it fit in the bag again. So if you're moving campsites every day or two, it may get annoying. But just to re-iterate - by far the BEST sleeping pad I've ever used on a camping trip. If you are frontcountry camping with your car to lug it places, can't recommend it enough!

Best Pad for Car Camping
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

I picked a set of these up after parting ways with my camper van. These have made car camping a dream! I wouldn't recommend backpacking with them due to their overall size. However when road tripling or going somewhere where weight isn't an issue these come along. They are nice and plush, quite wide so you can roll around, and I don't think I've felt the ground once, even being a side sleeper. They are easy to inflate, and have a flip valve so that air doesn't escape while you air it up, and so that as you roll them up, air doesn't sneak back in. Overall, one of the best purchase to date!

Perfect for a good nights rest

We give this sleeping pad high marks for self inflating and comfort. The size was also great in our 4 person tent to fit 3 for full floor coverage. They are light and easy to move around. We didn’t feel the uneven ground at all. They are easy to clean. It also did not feel cold even when temperatures dropped at night. It lost a star as it was a struggle to deflate at the end of our trip. After a fair amount of struggle I got one deflated enough to fit in the bag but I still need to work on the others. Any tricks to deflate it?

I just came back from a road trip with this sleeping pad. It is the comfiest sleeping pad I have used yet! Its soft, has stretchy fabric treated with TPU for water-resistance. Easy setup and breakdown with a stuff sack that actually fits! Perfect long camping trips or for post beach naps in the back of my Subaru.

Got this for backyard camping with the kiddos. It's so comfortable. I didn't even want to get up but I got kicked out of the tent.

So far, I'm obsessed with it
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I have a great backpacking sleeping mat but I wanted something that is more comfortable for car camping surf trips where I'm sleeping in a tent for 2 weeks or more. Enough room for me (5'6") and my 80lbs Weimaraner! This is exactly what I needed! Also, the price dropped after I purchased it and Backcountry was super chill about crediting me the difference.

Wish it were an inch thicker

After about 6 nights on this I'm very happy with it. It is a huge upgrade over our old thermarest. I found that I needed to fine tune the pressure - the first night it was over inflated (yes you do have to add a little air with pump or lungs) and too firm, so I let a little out the second night and found that I liked the cushion level but was feeling some rocks in a few of my bonier places. Because I got this strictly for car camping I wish it could have been an inch thicker so that I could leave it at the softer level and still be high enough off the ground. I don't have a lot of cushion on my body at 6'2" 160lb so may sink more than others. having said that, It's still the best mattress I've ever slept on in a tent...almost tempted to carry the extra weight on our next back packing trip.

Might as well be sleeping on the ground

I had high hopes for this pad. After inflating it for over an hour, it was mushy and when I laid on it, sunk right thru to the ground. Not even close to a Thermarest 1". I will be returning. Now I have to go find something in a store before I leave to camp tomorrow.

Comfortable!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I've never used any sleeping pad like this before. I opened the valve and left it in the bottom of the tent then went to hang out by the campfire. When I arrived back at the tent for the evening it was inflated and I closed the valve and had a super comfortable sleeping pad. Really awesome car camping product! Super comfortable sleeping pad that is self inflating and holds air.
Do you have a question about this product?

Mine didn't inflate all the way. Is there a way to add extra air?
