Pretty disappointed, for various reasons. These shoes went back in the box after taking them out just to LOOK at them, only to find they were completely stretched out, with chalk in the friggin' creases!! I don't recall buying them at an REI garage sale...nor were they specified to be used merchandise. When the other pair I purchased at the same time turned out to be WAY too small (that's a different poor review) I made the effort to return them, and Backcountry has provided me a 1/2 refund (?). Question mark because in doing the math, the refund doesn't add up. I will be calling to find out more - but back to the shoes. Online they appear to have an aggressive slant to them, they ones I got were flat and I was able to stand in them comfortably with room to WIGGLE MY TOES! Horrible. Won't be purchasing from Backcountry any more. If I want used gear I'll go to Geartrade.com. Maybe they will at least provide a correct refund...

Confidence Inspiring!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This shoe strikes a great balance of sensitivity and power. The mid sole is rather soft, but the toe box and edge is stiff enough to transfer power even on small holds. The shape of the toe box aids in precision, and the heel fits and sticks well across a wide range of holds. For an aggressive shoe, it is immensely comfortable. As for sizing, this shoe runs large compared to other Tenaya models. I'd recommend going down a half size from what you wear in the Iati/Oasi/Mundaka. Sizing compared to other brands: Mastia Size purchased 41.5 (41 would be performance fit) Tenaya: Mundaka 41.5 Lasportiva: Skwama/Genius 41.5, Solution/Solution Comp 42 Madrock: Drone HV 11 M Evolv: Oracle 10.5 M 5.10: Hiangle 10.5M
