I order xxs short. I'm 5'1" and typically wear a zero. They fit but the rise is too short and they give me a wedgie. I think the xs short will be perfect since the waistband can be cinched. The fabric is awesome, no movement restriction at all and very soft. The pockets are too small, so basically useless. But other than that the pants are great. I was hoping to exchange them for xs short but backcountry customer service has been completely unresponsive, so I'm returning and purchasing the other size elsewhere in multiple colors.

I like that they are thin and comfortable to hike in for mild seasons. I have not noticed a problem with the waist band like other’s have, but I’m not curvy. I don’t particularly like thick waistbands though in general because they get hot when I get exercise. These pants are great for working in or for casual wear because they are so comfy. But the reason I have it 4 stars is that they always look wrinkled. I have the past model in shorts and absolutely love them. But this seam they have down the front looks dumb and make them look puckered and wrinkled. I hope the next model comes out without that.

I was initially a little concerned about these being made of nylon, especially with so many reviews mentioning pilling; however, even with branches/dense brush scraping against them, they've held up well so far. The material is very lightweight and comfortable, and the different length options are great. (I'm 5'1", and the short inseam fits me perfectly.) I've also seen some complaints about the waistband not stretching enough, but I think there's plenty of stretch if you're slim. My only complaint is that if you tighten the drawstrings at the bottom, there's not anything to hook them onto (they're closed loops, so you kind of just have to tuck the extra drawstring into the pant bottoms), and then it takes a lot of pulling to untighten them; they also get a bit twisted inside of the pants in the process. Minor complaint, though, for comfy hiking pants!

I really wanted to like these. A friend of mine has them and loves them. But when you spend this kind of money on a single pair of pants, they shouldn't pill after the first wear.

I bought one of these from REI and loved it so much. I bought 2 more from this site and they are exactly the same (different colors) which is what I was looking for. They are soft, stretchy, and flattering. Now that I work from home, I am rotating these 3 pairs into my wardrobe as much as possible.

I am so sad about these pants. I have five pair of the shorts and capris and all fit me exactly the same. The fit is perfect and comfortable. I read the reviews of these pants stating something had changed and they fit different now. When I ordered, I intentionally picked a pair that said "last year's color" hoping to get a pair that fit like all my others. Unfortunately, it is as everyone says. The waistband fits once in place, but doesn't have stretch to pull up over your hips, so you feel like you're going to rip them when pulling them up. They are definitely tighter in the thighs than any of my capris. Also, I couldn't find any references to length in other reviews. I got the regular and they are really long. If I were to try another pair, I would probably go with medium/short.
