Great boots runs small

These boots are great! The feel good and look good. I'm disappointed in the sizing. They run a whole size small. I am a true 9 and I got a 9.5. They fit fine with normal socks, but in the winter I wear winter socks (nothing crazy, but thicker than typical) and they don't fit in the boot. I'm going to keep them because they don't have a 10 and I like them that much. Hopefully they are warm enough I don't need to wear thicker socks. I live in MN. Can get pretty cold.

I don’t know if these boots changed since all of the positive reviews, but I bought them based on the reviews and promptly returned both pairs. I bought two sizes because I listened to the sizing advice and went up a size - those were MASSIVE and I felt like a duck and they buckle out and give you undeniable cankles the size of swollen golf balls on both sides of your ankles. I bought my normal size and they fit fine with heavy socks. With cankles. Normal golf ball size cankles. No thank you. They generally weren’t that comfortable either - a lot of weird extra space in the foot and I have high insteps so that’s rarely a problem. The treading didn’t seem that great either. I went with the Helly Hansen Garibaldi VIs instead and they are soooo much better for me - so warm, comfortable, did great on trails, I love them.

Excellent, but heed sizing advice

After reading several reviews for these across the 'net, I decided The North Face Shellista II Mid Boot was the boot for me in terms of waterproofing, durability, grip, comfort, and warmth. Several reviews, however, mention that the sizing runs SMALL. This is TRUE! And I say this as someone who struggles to find a women's size 5 shoe that isn't too big for me (I wish there was a size 4.75, because 4.5 is too small!). I am a grown adult woman, but my feet are baby feet, tiny and narrow. I took a gamble and ordered the size 6 based on the reviews (and the fact that it's the smallest size available anywhere!) and they fit PERFECTLY with thick wool socks. In fact, my big toes are about 1/2 - 3/4 inch from hitting the front walls. For comparison, my size 5 Adidas sneakers are almost the same size as these. They feel great after a test drive walking around my neighborhood. I am yet to test drive them in the snow, but I'll say that my feet were running HOT walking 20 minutes in Southern California 55 degree winter temps. Looking forward to putting them to the real test in snowy New England in a few weeks! I feel confident they'll be great!

To say I loved these boots is an understatement. AFter reading through some reviews I decided to go up a size to a 7 (usually I'm between a 6 and a 6.5). They fit perfectly and even had room for a thicker sock. I used them hiking in upstate NY in the snow and my feet never got cold! (with microspikes on the bottoms) Super comfortable and barely had to break them in! I couldn't be happier with my purchase! would absolutely buy again!

My old TNF boots, I had forever & LOVED, but the leather finally pulled away from the rubber & cracked. I work at a ski resort and have been looking since last season, but hadn’t found anything I liked as well... until THESE BOOTS!! I debated on the size & ordered a sz.9 based on reviews. I wear an 8.5 in street shoes, but always a sz.9 in boots. Already sent them back & ordered the sz.9.5. They run a bit snug across the toe box, just getting your foot into the boot, and my right big toe was rubbing the front of the boot in a medium sock. Other than that they are SUPER cute, light weight & stiff, warmly lined & softly padded! Can’t wait to get the 9.5 & wear them on the mountain next weekend!!

These are the best winter boots!

I wear these boots daily and all day, my workplace is super cold. I also wear these while playing in the snow with my son or sledding. waterproof. I will def be buying again! I normally wear a 10 and ordered an 11 for reference.

These boots are amazing! I moved to the mountains and needed taller snow boots and these are perfect. They are extremely comfortable and cozy. There's no breaking them in and no worries about getting wet or cold feet. Very pleasantly surprised with these boots!

I love these boots. They are super cute looking. They keep my feet very warm and are comfortable. I have worn them on long hikes and my feet feel great. The boot fits me perfect and is true to size.

Love these boots, perfect

I forgot to review these boots that I bought three years ago. They are perfect. My main issue is slipping on snow/ice and comfortable fit and the boots work on both levels. I love that they lace up so you can titrate the snugness to your needs and I have yet to fall on my ass, so that is a good thing. Wish it would snow more often in NYC so I could put them to more use.

These are very true to size, but I won’t be able to wear a sock with them. I’m returning for a bigger size. I wear a 9, bought a 9, now sizing up to a 10 since they run in full sizes only.
