Great change from a bag
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Since I purchased this I have thrown my sleeping bag in the closet and never giving it a second glance! It’s so much lighter and more convenient than any bag I’ve tried to date. I run fairly warm so don’t need a great deal of insulation when I sleep, especially if I am sleeping in my base layers. This complements me perfectly along with my Klymit Static V2 and I have used it in temperatures in the low 30s with no base layers on and was comfortable. This has been my go to sleep system for the last 3 years and over 100 nights in the mountains. If you are the type of person that needs to stay extremely warm when you sleep or runs cold this may not be the system for you, but it is absolutely perfect for me and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get rid of their bulky sleeping bag to make more room in their pack. It is also worth mentioning that given the nature of the Hydrophobic Down it is important that you use the separate storage sacks and travel sacks to avoid long-term compression. Finally when you unpack it take a moment to fluff the down to restore the R-value, relatively easy but if neglected can drastically wear down the lifespan of the top quilt or result in an uneven heat distribution. All in all a five-star product when used properly with a good inflatable pad and pillow.
