Compared to the standard Spyre, the Spyre SLC Flat Mount's incorporation of a carbon actuation lever trims a bit of weight and actually makes for more responsive braking. The Spyre SLC Flat Mount's even braking is no doubt helped by its dual-side actuation, which lets both pads squeeze instead of leaving one fixed. Less pad wear, less rotor wear, less potential for warping—the benefits of dual-sided actuation are legion.

I love mech disc brakes
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Pros: -I can use my 11 speed mechanical brifters with zero issues with these -It's easy to swap shifters if need be -Easy to set up -Zero rotor rub -Much easier to fine tune the pad clearance and modulation IMO -DON'T HAVE TO BLEED THEM!!! Cons: -Not trendy -Not flashy -Won't be helping the two big S companies make loads of money off you (maybe this is a plus) -Not a closed system, so may accumulate dirt/grime affecting performance I
