Why We Like The Summerlite Sleeping Bag
The Summerlite 32 Degree Down Sleeping Bag is Western Mountaineering's lightest bag with continuous baffles, ideal for backpacking anywhere from nearby lakes to the faraway alpine. This mummy bag achieves a phenomenal light weight through its 850+ down insulation, the loftiest down available on the market. Western Mountaineering wrapped up this ultralight insulation with a water-resistant ripstop material, which Western Mountaineering claims is the lightest downproof fabric out there. The shell's water-resistance helps the insulation retain its lofty warmth in moisture-riddled environments.

Excellent light weight bag
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've used this sleeping bag in the Citico Creek Wilderness (May, 3 days/2 nights) and in the Wind River Mountains (August, 6 days/5 nights). I love it. It was comfortable during my May trip, when nighttime temps were in the 50s and 60s, and kept me warm in the Winds, where we had a couple of nights below freezing. It only weights 21 oz with the stuff sack, which is 20 oz lighter than my previous 800-fill bag.
